With longer days upon us, it’s the perfect time to take advantage of the season with some of our favorite local Spring activities. There is so much to do in Fairfield County, but here are some of my favorites that I come back to every year with my family:
Visit the colorful blooms of the season at one of the many local gardens.

Spend the day in nature at one of Connecticut’s Nature Centers

- Connecticut Audubon Society, Milford
- Grace Farms, New Canaan
- Brett Woods Conservation Area, Fairfield
- Trout Brook State Park Reserve, Weston/Easton
- Pequonnock River Trail, Bridgeport to Newtown
Spring is baby season at the farm! Visit the animals, including the new baby goats and sheep
- Wakeman Town Farm, Westport
- Silverman’s Farm, Easton
- Sherwood Farm, Easton
- Goldilocks Farm, Southport
Take a walk or picnic at one of Connecticut’s state parks and beaches
- Silver Sands State Park, Milford
- Sherwood Island State Park, Westport
- East Rock Park, New Haven
Some favorite beaches where you can visit without a sticker before May 31: Compo Beach in Westport and Sasco Beach and Southport Beach in Fairfield.
I also recommend checking out the Annual Dogwood Festival in Fairfield: Greenfield Congregational Church is the place to be on May 13 and 14 to celebrate with arts and crafts, delicious food, children’s games, and a family running event, the Dogwood Dash.
